Tuscan Bedroom

This bedroom was a labour of love. The bed frame was sourced originally from Kijiji for a ridiculous sum of $175.00. It was then transformed by Naked Furniture in Toronto to a raised platform bed with six huge storage drawers. The head and foot boards were raised in order to maintain full view of the headboard while accommodating today’s 12” mattresses. I’m pretty sure they thought I was nuts when I brought them the original head and foot boards…but I think the final results have cemented a mutual respect. I am thrilled with the quality of the craftsmanship they showed in making our vision happen! The headboard was painted with Annie Sloan Chalk Paints, and beefed up with a fabulous carved floral motif on the foot board and some gold accents. The drawers were lined with hand made Japanese papers.

The wall panels are framed with a 1” moulding and painted with a combination of chalk paint and Italian Lime paint which adds a lovely chalky “fresco like” appearance.
